origin
My parents were hard-working hippies. We traveled throughout the US, Canada, and Alaska in various rides from a VW Bus to the ‘64 Ford 4WD without shocks (I am sure to this day). Everywhere my folks landed, they would work and contribute to the community. And they would save money and sacrifice. That sacrifice and pension for planning allowed them to purchase the property that became our home in Northern Idaho—Sandpoint, where the wanderers finally rooted.
Sandpoint, Idaho, in the day, was a mixture of Loggers, Hippies, and Ranchers. It tolerated no shirkers. Sandpoint's transition from a small logging town to a world-class resort did not happen accidentally. Folks like my parents, with vision and hard work, were steering the ship.
After a tour in the Army and a degree from Gonzaga University, I got my opportunity to be part of the transition. I spent 15 years as a general and public works contractor building custom homes and subdivisions now part of that community. In 2013, wanting to expand my knowledge and create more impact, I returned to school. I graduated with M.S. Emphasis in Land-Use Planning and a J.D. in law from the University of Idaho Colleges of Natural Resources and Law.
Eighteen months of construction litigation left me looking to get back to development. I now bring all those combined experiences to my clients' planning and development process, from Acquisitions through Permitting until your Vision goes Vertical.
